TAFE Outreach programs are closely aligned to the Federal Social Inclusion Agenda ensuring NSW education is accessible to people who face barriers to learning including geographical and social isolation, language and cultural factors, financial hardship, lack of educational confidence, being unaware of opportunities to learn, a disability or family commitments.

Setting up and Running a Playgroup

This course content is intended for use by community organisations. It is not meant to be used for self directed learning. The material may be customised to intergrate into an accredited qualification for delivery by appropriate personnel.

The course content is about setting up and running a playgroup. It assumes no prior childcare training and is a mix of:
  • theoretical understandings of how children develop
  • hands on activities
  • practical guides to begining playgroups
  • maintaining viable playgroups
It features an emphasis on encouraging cultural awareness and language development
